Cardamom futures traded higher on MCX as traders built fresh positions amid rising domestic as well as exports demand in the spot market. Besides, expectations of lower arrivals due to poor production caused by prolonged dry weather condition in the growing regions too fuelled the uptrend.
The contract for December delivery was trading at Rs 1348.00, up by 1.57% or Rs 20.90 from its previous closing of Rs 1327.10. The open interest of the contract stood at 628 lots.
The contract for January delivery was trading at Rs 1390.00, up by 1.64% or Rs 22.40 from its previous closing of Rs 1367.60. The open interest of the contract stood at 226 lots on MCX.
