Black Pepper prices is about to touch all time high by the end of October this year, according to the Kerala Agricultural University. The prices is expected to reach Rs 720 -760 per kg against Rs 700 per kg.
According to the Spices board, the Black Pepper output in the country during 2015-16 is expected to decline about 50000 tons against 70000 tons in 2014-15 due to the weather conditions and drought.
As the production in Indonesia is indicating a fall in production, Black Pepper in India is likely to turn costlier. With the domestic production estimated to fall, Pepper imports is expected to rise further as India is now depending on Vietnam and Indonesia for the supply of Black Pepper.
