Andhra Pradesh raises Chilli, Turmeric sowing area

Chilli sowing in Andhra Pradesh has increased to 11000 hectares as on 20 July 2016, covering 10 percent of season’s normal sowing area of 0.118 million hectares, as per State agriculture department. Chilli sowing has seen an increase of 81.8 percent when compared to 2000 hectares same period last year.

Turmeric sowing in Andhra Pradesh increased 16.6 percent to 6000 hectares covering 32 percent of season’s normal area of 19000 hectares as on 20 July 2016 against 5000 hectares same period last year, according to data from the state agriculture department.
