Turmeric futures traded higher on NCDEX on expectation of supply crunch in 2016, as the drought in Maharashtra and Andhra Pradesh has reduced the crop size by 30% in the two States.
The contract for April delivery was trading at Rs 10124.00, up by 0.32% or Rs 32.00 from its previous closing of Rs 10092.00. The open interest of the contract stood at 22525 lots.
The contract for May delivery was trading at Rs 10260.00, up by 0.41% or Rs 42.00 from its previous closing of Rs 10218.00. The open interest of the contract stood at 3360 lots on NCDEX.
