Cardamom futures traded higher on MCX on account of good buying support from both exporters and upcountry buyers and hopes of improved export demand. Further, rising demand in the spot market against restricted arrivals from producing belts of Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh too fuelled the uptrend.
The contract for January delivery was trading at Rs 810.00/Kg, up by 0.21% or Rs 1.70 from its previous closing of Rs 808.30/Kg. The open interest of the contract stood at 841.00 lots.
The contract for February delivery was trading at Rs 808.50/Kg, up by 0.22% or Rs 1.80 from its previous closing of Rs 806.70/Kg. The open interest of the contract stood at 1549.00 lots on MCX.
