NCDEX chilli edges lower on higher arrivals


MUMBAI (Commodity Online):Chilli futures fell Tuesday profit booking by the traders on higher arrivals from the fresh crop.

In NCDEX chilli February contract is trading at Rs.6480 per quintal, fell by 1.15 per cent on 16:50 IST against the previous close.

In the morning session the contract traded at a range of Rs.6460-6666 per quintal. Open interest of the contract is 2655 lots and volume traded is 1545 lots for the time being.

Most of the bulk buyers are wait-ing for fresh crop arrivals which are expected to hit the market in 10-15 days. Stocks available at spot market are around 8-10 lakh bags (1 bag=40Kg.). Andhra Rabi chilli area is reported 0.44 lakh ha as on 21st December v/s 0.42 lakh ha yr ago.
